I'm just about to get on the ferry and head to Paris on my first Penny farthing tour.
On the road in France I soon realise that I'm carrying far too much weight and I can barely ride up any hill.
Catching my breath on another Hill.
I'm spending a lot of time pushing the Penny up the hills. So it is always good to take a break.
Having found a small river I'm pleased say I can ride for a while.
Another River break.
Another break for a coffee, and boy do I need it.
As the journey goes on I soon realise that I should be following a river rather than going direct route over all the hills.
Another tree, another break.
At this stage I'm wondering if I'm actually going to be able to make it to Paris the millennium celebrations.
D901, why do you always go up?
These lovely French tourists called me over and plied me with gallons of hot tea and even a few lovely biscuits.
Paris are you getting any closer?
What a super old barn.
Disaster, the wind blows bike over and buckles the wheel, when I reach Beauvais.
To repair my damage wheel I have to take all the spokes out and straighten the rim against a wall before re-spoking it.
Oh dear!
Feeling tired, having spent all night rebuilding the wheel.
I made it! Paris millennium 2000.
The Merry crowds in Paris for the millennium celebrations.
Back on the road on New Year's Day 2000, with a slightly sore head.
A slow tour around Paris now.
Hanging out at the Louvre.
A bridge over the River Seine.
The Eiffel Tower 2000.
I had a long cold night as I had to sleep on the streets as I had no where to stay.
Time to head home after my first Penny farthing tour.
