Mexico: Guadalajara to San Miguel
Total so far: 6,720 miles (10,815 km)
Leaving Guadalajara through the chaotic traffic proves to be interesting. With buses, cars and trucks whizzing about in all directions great care has to be taken. Finally, having made it out of the city I join up with Alexys and Valerie the French couple riding tricycles. They are also pulling trailers, one of which contains a 50kg Rottweiler! We work our way south and arrive in the wonderful city of Guanajuato. Here we meet Antonio who invites us to stay with him while we are in town. What a wonderful host, Antonio shows us around town and is the epitome of Mexican hospitality. Moving on, we all ride to San Miguel, a lovely city laid out on a hillside with narrow streets laid out in a grid pattern. Here we are lucky enough to see local dancers on the street taking part in a huge celebration, what luck!
